Any of ever added a passenger console and wished you hadnt? Got a 2016 zx225. Only has a single console. Wife and or daughter goes with me a lot. Nothing to block the wind/weather for them. What your thoughts.

Drive slower or better yet teach them to operate the boat and let them take turns driving. They will enjoy it more.

I have a dual console ZX225. I hate the additional console but got it because of the family, they definitely prefer it so I would assume yours will as well. I never sit over there so it only gets in my way. Its like caring about the leg room in the back seat of my truck, I wont ever sit back there so what do I care.

It will be aggravating especially if you have only used single consoles but you get used to it. Still doesnt mean I like it.

I don't care for single console boats. I've had dual consoles for twenty years. I can understand if its 18' or smaller.

I have only had dual consoles. My Wife fishes with me 95% of the time. I will gladly give up a little space to have her come with me and never worry about "fishing too much".

With the 250's on almost every boat and it's a must to go at least 70 mph. Feel sorry for the guy in the second seat especially when it's cold.

The way most manufacturer's build them these days, almost all are very easy to take in and out. My Triton has two hand screw-type knobs, under console, and one regular on outside edge of console, take it out in about 5 min.

With a big boat I can't see any reason not to have one IF the boat has a console that actually works to deflect wind and rain. I have one on my 17.5 so it makes the deck too short for my rods but I work around it because I really like the extra storage and convenience of one.

I wish mine was easily removable, I would only have it in twice a year for the wife.

The 2nd console does take up more space in a smaller boat. A few months ago my FIL was with me and we headed home in the evening on a chilly day. First thing he said when we got to the ramp was ''this thing is nice'' (pointed at the console). its nice to have for the wife and the few times i don't fish alone. I would definitely like a removable one.
