What are you guys running for a starting battery? Regular starting or a multi purpose? Last tournament we fished, it almost did not crank the motor at the end of the day. Running 3 graphs and the live wells is just to much for it. The one I have now is an Exide group 31 but I have no idea the reserve capacity cca etc. It was on the boat when I purchased it. Looks to be about 2yrs old. Are the AGM 31 batteries still the way to go? If so what brand are you running?

I looked into the lithium batteries but I'm not ready to take that plunge yet. Plus I'm not sure my charger will work for them anyway..

Duracell 31 AGM from Sam's Club. They go on sale often enough that you can get them pretty cheap too.

Heard nothing but good about the X2 as well, but it is twice the cost and I can guarantee that it's not twice the battery as the Duracell.

X2 Power Dual Purpose/Deep Cycle 31M AGM for my cranking and trolling batteries...

A little heavy & pricey, but they pack a punch and have a 4 year warranty...

With the graphs, I'd try to minimize any potential interference.
Fish finders don't have much amp draw; but, I'd want my graphs powered by batteries that aren't hooked up to any kind of motor.

Sam's and Walmart have really good return/exchange policies for batteries.

I use the Everstart Maxx 29 DC Marine battery ($90) from Walmart. The only things hooked up to this battery are my 50HP motor, bilge pump, and livewell. It has 845 CCA. If I had a bigger motor or more draw on the starting battery, I'd get a group 31.

Other than Falcon, I can't think of a lake I fish that isn't within 30 miles of a Walmart. So, if I got to the lake and had a battery problem, I could just drive a short distance to replace it.

Duracell is a great trolling motor battery but may not be sufficient for your cranking motor needs once you add a bunch of accessories. Really need a dual purpose battery with 1100+ cca. The best imo is Odyssey but they pricey.

That Duracell AGM 31 has some pretty high specs. I know from research it beat out a lott in that size range that were readily available. I think I paid about $150 for it.

I run HDS 12 and 9, as well as everything else but my troller off of mine and it has never even hiccuped at starting that 250 SHO at the end of a day- even a tourney day running the wells all day. Had it for two years this month.
