Dark colors for me in muddy conditions! Black with any color tail is fine. Whatever you have the most confidence in, is what I'd recommend!

Water color for me doesn't determine soft plastic color. I use what I have confidence in no matter. But one thing that may determine what color I use in cloud cover, rain and low light level. For that I use plastics with a bit of sparkle flakes or hand tied lures with strands that reflect the most light. If lure action is good, color is a secondary concern because most colors contrast with a water, cover or bottom background. Stocking up on many colors is a waste of money IMO because just a few will do.

Well went out this past Saturday. Tried the orange test. I got great bites on orange and white.

Several dirty dirty water spots by me, and black/red/chart works hands down better than everything else. Just red/chart works great too. Red silhouettes the best up close in dirty water. Deeper water yea black/chart and the like, but especially 10ft and under, reds are amazing.
