He shouldn’t have to pay a dime unless it happened in a no fault state. Then just the deductible. The person that hit him better have good insurance. That’s what I used to think, many insurance companies are a complete joke. I’m going through an insurance claim denial right now and the crash report is as clear as can be as to who was at fault. USAA told me Safeco, a division of Liberty Mutual, is known for just denying claims. USAA and lawyers say the other person was 100% at fault, clear as can be. He’ll most likely get screwed big time on any aftermarket parts. If your insurance company is not fixing your vehicle and submitting a claim to the other company, you need to switch to Texas Farm Bureau. Safco tried to blame me for 5% of the fault for an accident. A woman lost control of her car on the ship channel bridge and did a NASCAR spin, hitting me and two other cars. I asked the Safco "What was my part of this? Driving on the same day as her?"

My insurance, USAA, is going to pay for my sons trucks damage but meanwhile Im out for the thousand dollar deductible until its all settled, assuming it is settled. The Safeco insure teenager admitted fault to the DPS Trooper, she was issued a ticket, and the DPS crash report blamed her for the crash that damaged a total of six vehicles. Pure BS companies try to get away with pulling this [censored].

Safeco is a POS company. I have been told for three weeks now by a lady at their headquarters in Washington State that a supervisor from the Texas region would be contacting me. The supervisor refuses to call me and the lady in Seattle keeps apologizing. I have filed a complaint with the Texas Department Of Insurance, lawyer recommended doing this as a first step. He told me the insurance companies do not like to have a complaint filed against them and normally settle on a clear case like I have. Im getting my deductible back one way or another even if I have to take the insured to court.
Totally off topic but the dad showed up to the accident, hit my son, charged with assault, then arrested due to three warrants.

My son has been in the autobody repair business for 20 years. They won't let a Liberty Mutual or any of their affiliates claims in their shop. He says not only can the customers not get their money but the shops can't either.

Palanuik used to run a "modified" Tundra, a CrewMax with the longer bed. Or at least he ran in one year. This is from a 2016 article on BASS. LinkFor the last two years, my girlfriend has traveled with me on tour, which requires a little more room. I wanted to move up from the double cab to the Crew Max, but I preferred the 6 1/2 foot bed that came with the former over the 5 1/2 footer that came with the latter. I mentioned this to the guys at Parker Toyota in Idaho and they stated that its possible to have the best of both worlds. I bought a Crew Max from them and then took it to LongBedMyTruck.com in Salt Lake City to have a full bed conversion.
Simple, right? Well, not so much. I had my A.R.E. camper shell ready to install, but the angle of the windows on the back of the double cab are different from those on the back of the Crew Max. The lines didnt match up, so I took it to Northwest Auto Body in Coeur d'Alene. They did any incredible job of fiberglass work and now it fits and looks like it came directly from the factory. Question, with Toyota being his sponsor, I would think they would step-up and give him another
truck! I've heard him say more than once that he pays for his truck just like us normal people. Toyota has their team listed as KVD, Terry Scroggins, Gerald Swindle, Mike Iaconelli

Glad everyone is okay! It sucks to have to get a new vehicle especially when it is already in-season for him. From the BASS article it sounds like it is time for him to step up to a 3/4T and get the best of all worlds.
