I'm going to the Crappie Madness seminar in Bossier City at Bass Pro this coming Saturday and I'm looking to pick up a couple of new rods. Any suggestions on good economical rods? Length? I currently have one 10 ft and 3 6'6" rods.

43 foot!? I'm having a hard enough time getting used to my 10 foot! Haha. I am fairly new to the forum and just figured out how to use the search feature today. I did that and got a.lot of really good information from old threads. This is a great forum. I appreciate all of the good advice the more experienced people are willing to give to newbies like me.

Have you thought about the physics here. you have maybe 3 foot lever arm on your side vs 40 ft lever arm for the fish.
5 pound fish times 40 feet is 200ft/lbs. on your side 200/3 = 67lbs needed to lift the fish.
Think it would be hard to hold the poll up when fishing and difficult to fight the fish.
Interested to here how this works out.

Not sure on the physics aspect of this but there is a bit of flex to the rod...

4# test line, tiny Fly Fishing Strike indicator for a bobber...DY-NO-MITE!
