Went to Newman Bottom on Thursday. The walk was tough but fishing was great. For me the early morning bite was a little slow but things picked up around ten and I had my limit by twelve thirty. They were much larger than the Irwin Bridge catch. Most people caught their limit. some were leaving around eleven thirty with their limit. Most fish were ;caught upstream of the bridge.

White bass Interceptor, I am thinking to to Newman Bottom on Sunday. Do you need to wear wader to fish there or rain boot is good enough? Thanks.

No waders, rubber boots for sure. Good luck. Slow roll was the most productive technique.

I walked upstream from Irwin on the WMA today. Went all the way to low water crossing then doubled back down the other side. Fished pretty hard from 10:00am til 3:30 pm caught 12 or 14 small males, boxed 8 with 2 reaching 121/2 or 13 inches. The bite was tough with only 2 spots producing 2 fish and the rest being singles. It doesn't look like the spawn has reached upstream this far yet...Lawton

Good morning all. Im assuming we can now park by the oil wells and walk in at NB? Or are most walking in from Irwin Bridge? Im headed to IB this morning. Didnt think NB was accessible yet. These reports got me worked up.
Appreciate any info. Will post fish pics (if any) later.
Shut up and fish!

Well had an interesting day Saturday. Went to Newmans Bottom at first light and got to my honey hole. Only ended up catching two there. Fished till 1000 am. As I fished it seemed like thousands of people were passing me going upstream. I left my spot and started to walk upstream a ways and I literally saw someone at every water opening for the next 500 yards. No one else were catching many. The 20 people I could see from where I was fishing I only saw one or two being caught. I saw Jmoe as he was walking back downstream and he said he had not had any luck and it was crazy how many people he saw. So I decided screw it and made the long walk back to my truck. I drove to Nsils and Cedar and still there was no flow. I decided to go to a spot near Irwins bridge where I had caught them before. I ended up catching two at that hole and two at a hole around the corner from it. By this time it was 130. I decided to go some exploring. Glad I did. There was no gang buster holes but kept on fishing and ended up with 21 total. Left around 400. Long day but at least I got some fish to show for it. By the way got stopped by the game warden for the second time this season. It had been at least 5 ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/02/full-56707-1187-20190203_123817.jpg) years since the last time I was checked.
