Thinking about taking my 14 year old son to Amistad for spring break March 9-17. Being this is my first time on the lake, I'm probably going to hire a guide for the first day. Any recommendations as to guides and lodging. Or any other advice. Thanks

If you cant find anyone by then let me know and ill give you some areas to catch plenty of fish. March is pretty easy out there.

Thanks for all the replies and advice. How about places to stay? Are the places that have trailers close to the lake the best option or should I look at hotels in town?

Scooter, River St. Lodging is the way to go. Tommy & Nancy are good people (830)734-3248. Ramada, Holiday inn, and Hampton in town also good. However, with the current pipeline boom lodging is pretty full down here. Book as soon as you can. March is a great time of year to get your line stretched down here.
