Just got my Helix mounted at the console. I have a question on wiring up the power cord. Can I just run it off my 12v accessory plug wires. The plug does not work anymore and I never use it, but still has power. Can I just add two male spade ends on the power wire from the unit and plug it up?

Wouldn't recommend wiring to any accessory wiring harness or fuse panel. you are gonna be better of going straight to the battery or a dedicated fuse panel for electronics only. Use as least 14 ga wire from the graph to the power source with an inline fuse at the battery or fused panel

Count yourself among the lucky ones. Many have lots of interference unless run like 44 Diesel suggested.

Straight to battery=clean power.

44 Diesel gave you the correct answer. If you happen to have issues it will save you time in the long run of trying to eliminate possible issues. Unless you installed the original wiring, you don't know what all is connected to it or the condition of the wiring.

If the accessory plug is wired with 10ga wire, then you can make the connection there. However, if it's a smaller wire, go to the battery as others have said. John

I appreciate the help. It worked fine hooked up at the plug, but went ahead and ran straight to the battery just in case.
Thanks again
