yesterday i fired my pontoon up for the 1st time in 3 months.got out on the lake and GPS wouldnt find satellite then i noticed the satellite light was not coming on so it couldnt lock on a satellite for the anchor mode to work.after checking all wires everything else worked on it but the anchor mode.read the book and did all the trouble shooting it suggested with no results. so i Googled the problem and one fellow said he had same problem and he just unhook the ground wire and hook it back up and it worked .sure enough iv got a kill switch between the negative cable on the TM and battery so i just turned it off and back on and it works like a charm.picks up Satellite just like new! good old Google!

Ive had that same issue, usually if it happens, it happens the first time I deploy the tm, I usually unplug it for a few seconds then plug it back in, I guess basically kinda does the same thing... its aggravating sometimes but once it locks on to the satellites its good the rest of the day. I still wish they would figure out a way to deploy the tm. Thats my biggest complaint about the Xi5, and I LOVE it.

Do away with the kill switch on the - battery cable, it needs to be on the + cable. Also make sure you unplug the TM before connecting a battery charger. For some reason battery chargers have reported doing similar problems with the X5i.

Mine will not power up ! Can`t figure out what it could be.I`ve changed the Batteries in both the remote & the wireless foot pedal and it still wont power up. Is there a fuse somewhere that I could be overlooking?

Are referring to the TM itself? If so and there are no lights on the display at all then I would check the circuit breaker that should be inline from the TM batteries. If the TM is powering up but the remotes are not working then try pairing them. They may have lost connection.

Thanks for that response! There are no lights on the Display! Now all I have to do is find the breaker hmmm?Where do you recomend I look for it? There are three Batteries in my Battery bay,two AC Delco M29MF`s & one Everstart 27D. I don`t know which is for Cranking or the Troll motor but one of the AC Delco`s has multiple connections on top of it.

The group 29's should be your TM batteries. The circuit breaker should either be on the + terminal leading to the TM or on that lead somewhere near the battery.

Everything checked out from front of boat to batteries with no issues still Xi5 would not power up so took it to Allstar Marine. Unit still under warranty which is a GOOD thing thumb

Fishbonz - is your Xi5 hardwired, or does it have a plug near the motor? If you have the plug - I suggest using a DC volt meter and check for the proper voltage at the terminals inside of the receptacle - at the bow. If you have the correct voltage (12 or 24 VDC) then - you sure need to have it looked at by your warranty repair shop.

On mine - I experienced a similar problem one day and it turned out that one wire had pulled out of the back of the receptacle due to a defective terminal. To fix it I just moved the one wire to the other unused terminal (my receptacle is the three wire type), and rewired the plug to match it - and the problem was solved.

If you have any questions, call me.

Don

Thanks for responding Don & yes mine has a plug also! I didn`t think to check the motor terminals before I pulled it I just made sure there was power getting to the 12volt outlet up front. I`m sure if there is a terminal issue Allstar will find it & replace what ever is causing it to not power up since it`s still under warranty. If they don`t find a problem ,I will definately give it a think when it`s returned to me thumb BTW: How are things at the Office anybody catching?
