Looking for a new prop. What is your opinion on PowerTech props, and what would yall recommend for a '97 225 efi mercury. Touches 66-67 mph at wot and runs around 5700-5800 rpm. My boat now is super slow out of the hull and sometimes I cant even get out of the hull. Current prop is a 27 pitch 4 blade Hi-Tech or something like that. Thanks in advance for the help. Mainly wanting something that will get me out of the hull a lot faster and increased top end and gas mileage would be a plus.

Not enough info to help. What boat? Any Setback? What is your prop to pad measurement? Not even knowing any of that, I would bet that any 27 pitch prop is too much wheel for that 225.

'96 stratos 201 pro xl, setback is I wanna say 6 inches but I am not 100% sure on that. Couldn't tell you the prop to pad measurement. Bought the boat with this prop on it.

I would go over to bassboatcentral.com and get on the Stratos board. I bet they could line you out quickly. I would drop a pitch or two if it were me. I ran Tempest Plus and Trophy Plus props on my old EFI.

I went with the mercury fury 24 pitch on my 225 efi. Lot better lift than tempest and has same top end. Thats a lot of prop for that motor. I had a 25 on my old 20 which was standard. But definitely need to go over to bbc

I would try a 25 Fury or Tempest plus.

I would think a 24p Fury or a 25p Tempest. Either of those vented properly should come out of the hole good and provide good tip end. But to talk to the best there is about it, Id call Josh at Steves Custom Props. He can definitely fix you up!

Thanks guys, I was thinking that maybe a 26 or 25 pitch prop would be good. I also made a post on bbc in the stratos forum. Hopefully someone there has the same setup that can get me dialed in eek

Dont waste your money on a 26. Get you a 24 Tempest plus and it will jump out of the hole. Thats what you want. You surely dont want to take 20 seconds to come out of the hole just to run 2-3 mph faster.
