Thought I would take a couple of hours trying to find some Crappie on Hubbard. I’ve never really targeted Crappie, but I’m determined to change that. I started by looking for Crappie suspended out in the open relating to baitfish. I read that here on the forum. I found Shad out in open water, but no Crappie. I thought I would scan a couple of creeks out in open water, I side scanned these trees and thought this looked like Crappie in the trees. But I’m not sure, I fished them for a while but no takers. It made me doubt my idea that these are actually Crappie. I know we have a lot of expertise in this forum, so I thought I would get some other eyes on this. What do you think? [Linked Image]

I'd say the big balls are bait and the small shapes are individual fish.......just my .02

Thank you Lord for the gifts in my life

I used to get the same returns on Lewisville. It’s probably where zebra mussels have attached and spread through the trees.

Yes, I’m on A dock @ Harbor Bay. This image was North of the 30 Bridge.

large baitfish balls over some medium sized crappie underneath and hanging tight to cover. , but the crappie are inactive. if the baitballs were spread out and alot more scattered, then that would indicate active feeding fish. remember, finding the fish is alot easier than timing thier short feed window this time of year. I would try early in the morning or late in the evening., they may only feed for an hour or less.
If those baitfish are staying in that area, then you can bet thier are gamefish nearby.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
