I�ve bought this reel brand new last week. The side plate open and closed button won�t push all the way up to closed... it just feels jammed. Any thoughts? It�s driving me crazy lol

Maybe try a drop of oil on it , or take it to a reel guy.

Return it and get a DC.

^^^what Ranger Jim said. Curado K is a great reel and will cast a long ways, it just needs a little more maintenance than some of the previous models. Keep a drop or two of oil on it after a long day and occasionally clean it with a Q tip and I think you�ll be pleased

What kind of oil would you all recommend?

I always use the little blue bottle of Shimano oil that comes in the box. Works like a charm.

Wiggle it a little. It can be a little tricky to close and lock into place. You don't need oil on that part of it.

The Shiimano K is a smooth good casting reel.

K�s don�t come with oil.

Mine did.

Mine came with it too. I use Ardent reel butter mostly.
