Fished the A.M., despite the wind and waves caught quite a few whites (only 10 keepers though) and ALOT of undersized hybrids, the size just wasn't there today, anyones else have similar results. Not a bad morning all in all I've never caught that many fish in windy conditions like that.

Fished all day Saturday (From 7AM-5PM) with Boy Scout Troop 435 from Dallas Area. This was the 4th year we had the Scouts and Dads from this Troop with us on RC. They arrive Friday Evening, set up Tents and then we run "Shuttles" of 2 1/2 Hour Length all day with both Boats. Three Scouts and a Dad in each Shuttle with Adam and I both operating Boats. The past three years were easy! Yesterday was a challenge with the Wind and small Boys trying to detect a bite. Still,we had enough fish for a 35 person Fish Fry on Saturday Evening! Fisherman's Point Marina does a nice job preparing for the Scouts with a Mowed area, Nice Restrooms and Showers, etc. all ready for the Boys!

Anyone interested in pursuing this for a similar activity (Scouts, Kid's Church Groups, Family Outing, etc. ) give us a call. We can provide you with any # of References from Groups we currently work with!

Fished Friday from 9:00 to about 2:00 and caught a boatload of keeper Whites and threw a ton of dinks back to grow up. We only caught one hybrid, undersize, the rest were all Whites. Some nice size in the Richland arm just west of the split from the Chambers arm. All fish caught under birds with Humdingers and a few on a Rattle-trap.

My brother-n-law went Friday morning and said they killed em. He and a buddy kept 50 good ones and threw back almost that many. He said they caught a few good Hybrids up to 8#. I sat at home looking out the window thinking to myself what a perfect day to be on RC fishing with the the clouds and slight wind; I was right!!

Something has changed on RC Lake. After fishing this lake for several years we have noticed this Spring to be different. We are catching way too many undersize( less than 12") fish. The magnums seem to be hiding in places different from the "normal dependable spots". We still catch keepers (greater than 12")but the ratio seems way off. Even under the birds the fish seem consistantly small.
I am hoping the high water is the reason and not my poor fishing skills..no way..lol

Haven't been out there yet this year but that is what I hear from others as well. The last couple of years has produced a large number of real quality sandies and little ones are kinda disappointing; get spoiled easily! hhahaha

We had our 2 man limit by 10am Friday, Almost had one Saturday, had 4 on the boat Sunday Morning and got into a school that stayed on top for over half an hour and didn't move, We put 76 in the box and were back at the dock by 930am cleaning fish getting ready to head home, Sunday we got into some really good sized whites, at one point I boated 5 in a row over 13 inches. We kept a few small ones Sunday but most were in the 12 inch range. We wre also the only boat around Sunday, very nice.

I assumed the drought had something to do with it, although RC is a real big lake I've noticed the fish population has dropped drastically this year on two smaller lakes I frequent, aquilla and navarro mills.
