Can anyone explain the differences between the Xi5 and the Xi3?
Also which would be better for a small 17 foot Tracker Pro 170? Dont need any info on Ultrex, I know about it. Thanks

Xi5 has the foot pedal and hand remote whereas the Xi3 comes with just the hand remote. Foot pedal is a separate purchase. Also the Xi5 hangs off the front more than the Xi3. I've only bumped it once on the rollers, but you can get a bracket that'll raise it when loading. I'm still trying to get used to the foot pedal. I'm used to a cable steer and catch myself holding down on the pedal like I would a cable steer. I find the hand remote to be easier. Point where you want to go and press the auto pilot then set what speed you want. If you have to make a course adjustment just bump it left or right as needed. All in all it tracks pretty good even in the wind and current. When you want to stop just hit the prop off or anchor button. Anchor feature holds like a rock. Mine is an 80# on an 18' glass Ranger. Pushes it along pretty good.

Thanks. Do they make either an Xi3 or Xi5 with a built in transducer that would allow me to use my Humminbird Helix 7 that I have up front? I know Motorguide is designed to be used with Lowrance units, but in some cases cable adapters are available for that situation. I would be happy to just get 2D up front if that is possible.

I was thinking I read that somewhere, but wasnt sure. Just trying to do my homework before I pull the trigger.

I just posted a brand new MK 45 12V foot control for half price, leaving you enough to buy a transducer of your choice....
Look in the classifieds....
It's this version..
