What website do you use to track the barometric pressure? I’ve been thinking about starting a fishing log...seems like that site would be a great tool. fish

Thanks for the update JMoe. I've been, unfortunately, extremely out of pocket for almost 18 months now... but back on my feet smile

I didn't go back and read everything, but did i hear right that the spillway is no longer fishable?

Looking forward to a trip in the next couple of weeks smile

David

I use weather underground and go to the 10 day forecast. There is a chart with temperature, wind speed and barometric pressure.

Yes, the spillway is fishable. It was closed quite a while for maintenance but it's been open for a while now.

I went by Irwin bridge this evening. The water has dropped and cleared up substantially. Talked to a couple fisherman and they had done well.

I'm going tomorrow. Anyone know if the fishing is better downstream of the bridge or upstream of it?

I always fish downstream of the bridge. Remember, if you go upstream you need an orange vest and orange hat.

Thanks, it's been a couple of years since I've been. Not sure if the rules changed or just that they weren't followed back then. Wasn't uncommon to go upstream and no one wore orange. Glad you told me so ill be prepared if I go that direction!

I went to Irwin today. Fished an old favorite and came up with 11 in about 2 hrs. The creek has plenty of water in it and is a little dirty but not bad. I'm sure it was way worse before. The banks are slippery, and there is standing water in some of the low spots (at least in some of the shortcuts), so wear your rubbers.

My cousin Jon and I walked into Newman's Bottom yesterday and the creek is out of its banks with no flow. Lake needs to come down 2 to 3 feet before it's fishable.

As Troy said we walked ( Actually WADED) to Newmans Bottom. I didn't even try to fish. Water still out of its banks. Walked/Waded back to the truck. Drove to Nails and found no flow. Went to Irwin bridge and luckily found a spot and caught 17 keepers with 4 throw backs and lost about 5 or 6 while reeling in. Troy caught 9. [Linked Image]

Nice J-Moe. I thought about going out to Irwin today but probably will have to pass. For some reason my balance or should I say my equilibrium is off today, not something you want to have while at the creek or one could end up in the drink.

For those who want to go to the park to clean fish, the cleaning tables are in the water and not accessible. I did not ask the park people if there was a temporary cleaning station or not.
