Yea. He lost his line on his spot this morning, with spot lock that wouldn't happen. Plus it's so much easier to stay on a location.

Line on the spot was lost because he couldn't see his target to throw at in the fog. Spot lock holds it on a spot. It doesn't keep it lined up in the right direction.

He is the best in the business in my opinion. How can you argue how he does what he has done. He is going to win this tournament, in my opinion, against a field that is stacked with tons of locals and others who are great fisherman. If he wants to use a paddle to move around so be it.

He mentioned in one his Rayburn interviews this week about a bait that he uses all the time, and the guy interviewing him knew exactly what he was talking about. Guess its jig trailer he uses. Obviously he can find fish. But having confidence in the baits he is using has to be a factor in his streak. He is fun to watch

You dont know how to use it to your advantage then. Line up where you want, hit the spot lock, and throw the same way every time. You no longer need that line up because you can use a spot on the boat to line up, or use your heading on the graph to make the line up. Easy, and I do it all the time.

If it blows tomorrow we'll see how that foretrex works out since he's out in the middle of veach.

You would think keeping a spot offshore was impossible before these glorified marker buoys. Thrift is one of the best in the world no matter what capabilities his equipment has. Hope his consistency in this event gets him the win.

Except when the boat is staying in the same spot but spinning slightly and he can't tell exactly the heading in the fog. It takes several points to be a line. Staying on the same point you lose the line.
