Last time I was out I was headed back to ramp after about 5 hours out and my lowrance HDS 10 gen 1 unit started to fade out by the time I got to the ramp it was black. I turned it off and turned it back on and it was normal. This have never happen before. Also When I run my map on my front unit ( HDS 5) it freezes up and restarts. Does anybody know what mine be going on. Mine still saving money to put some newer one one just can't do that now so I have to make them last a little longer.

Check and see if you have current Lowrance updates in each unit. https://downloads.lowrance.com/

It might be a battery issue.
