When you are making your way into a very quiet place that is shallow even if it's something like a creek, what effect do you think the noise of the trolling motor makes for those fish? Do you think there are times the trolling motor will spook fish from a spot while approaching it too close or too fast? Do you opt out for a push stick or paddle in those areas? I always wondered what others thought about their trolling motor speed and noise while entering a shallow area or very still glass house spot?

I would guess it depends on the mood of the fish.
I have caught fish on boat ramps that had ski boat after ski boat launching and blasting off. The fish cared not.
Also have been in my kayak catching fish after fish on topwater and had a bass boat move in on me trolling motor going and the fish shut down right away.

Probably no more than deploying power poles.

it really depends on who you ask. ,,,,,,, but the fish are the only ones that can tell you for sure arguments can be made for either side

It can at times or with certain fish I am sure. I have been really shallow and when I spun my tm around to back out, I have seen fish start following my trolling motor as it pushed water into their face. I also remember last year giving up on an area and start to troll out of the wood when I looked and saw a 5 lb bass swimming beside me watching me. He followed for a good 15yds on the surface pacing the boat but would not take anything that I threw at him. I am guessing that it doesn't scare them out of an area but make a wary bass not bite at times.

Probably no more than deploying power poles. I can verify that an Ultrex DOES spook fish more than my Blades. Blades make a very quiet gurgling noise once. The Ultrex is noisy, continuously, causing grass to move, silt to stir into muddy water, and constantly correcting for position by turning the head from full clockwise to full counterclockwise....then back to full clockwise. Haha. It even annoys me.

I've had a fish start to bite at the same time I started up the tm and had it stop. So in that instance, it does. Now sand bass are the opposite. If they are schooling some but not hard, I'll start the tm up and it pulls them in thinking the shad are hitting the surface I suppose.

Mine was getting annoying and when I changed the setting it stopped trying to be so accurate and constantly moving back and forth. On the down side, it is a little slower initially when I tell it to move forward.

Adjust the speed to mimic the sound of a hydrowave and the shad will become more active. : )

You can troll to CATCH fish.
