Howdy to all my fellow Blue Kitty Kat chasers!!!!
Figured I’d say hi, give a quick introduction and background rundown and see how it went...

Long time forum reader, 1st time actually posting. I caught “Blue Cat Fever” 3 or 4 years ago and have been b**ls deep ever since!!! My home lake is RayBob and it’s been 99% of my of blue cat experience. Have had a few guided trips here and there on Texoma and Tawok. So far I have only been able to call myself a drift fish kinda guy. I’m not saying I’m a pro but I like to think I hold my own and am fairly successful on a lake that is not known as a trophy fish lake and hard to fish at times. I’ve got em up to 39lb and hoping to break 40 this winter.

Just kinda curious if anyone out there has a decent amount of experience on finding gizzards in numbers or any tips/hints/suggestions/storys of repeated success of finding gizzards & catching blues on Ray Roberts in recent years.

Thanks for any replies and Good Luck & Tight Lines this season!!!!!

Glad you got the Blue cat bug there is no cure . I can't help you with Shad or tips up there but I buy live carp from the 99 Ranch Market and do pretty good with it they have to kill it so they knock them in the head and bag them up . I think they have some location in the DFW area .

Thanks for the reply Dewayne.

Yessir, I definitely have the “bug” nowadays and if there is a cure all pill I don’t want any!!!! I wish I’d have discovered these addicting things years ago!!

Carp is something I probably should look into in the future as a backup. I net them fairly often, just never use them. Have used drum (since they seem to find my net more than carp) with little success in the past.

FYI——-congrats on the recent trip and a happy FIL!!!!

Thanks rlfisher

Yep, don’t see or hear much on the forum about Ray Bob. Couple guys put on an impromptu get together tournament a few years back and I was all kinda pumped about meeting a few folks and seeing how some experienced guys fished the lake but it fell through. Weather kept some guys home and miscommunication on what ramp was being used put a hamper on things.

Give me a shout or a PM and let’s see what we can do about catching some of them nasty Ole Ray Bob Blues sometime.
