Ok TFFers,

I'm about to organize all my fishing overflow, and I have A LOT!!!! I'm devoting an entire room to a hunting and fishing extra storage/workshop. It's a pretty big room, probably 30 x 20. So, i have a lot of room to organize and store everthing. I have a couple of big tables to work on things, and a couple of shelves, but not near enough

I need some ideas for storage/access to the following extra items:

Rods
Reels
Line (big and small spools)
Clothes (rainwear, gloves, hats, sun shirts, etc)
Tackle
Hard baits, soft baits in bags (hundreds of bags and types)
Misc Gear, all sorts

I'm thinking pegboard maybe for the bags of tackle???

I don't know, give me your ideas, what works for you, show me pics. I need to get organized.

Thanks,

it doesn't matter what you use --- in a little while it will look like a bomb blew up in it. *** Stuff everywhere, bags not on the right hooks, poles leaning on the wall, etc etc
not that you want it that way and not that you might not be organized --- just the best laid plans *****
My 20 by 32ft Fishing shed was really neat and organized at one time --- then I started putting stuff in it and doing things in it.

Set up shelves in aisles like you are in a tackle store. Put a label at the end of each aisle. I like the cheap black plastic shelves from Lowes.

My set up is all set up so I can back my boat in and reach all my tackle, rods, and reels from the boat. If you look at the far right of the pic you can see the butts of my rod rack. It makes it nice to load what I need for the lake I'm going to and the time of year. I have another time that much in the boat. As said above, it's never big enough. I am moving soon and my next boat and tackle shed will have a wall on each side with shelves and rod racks on 2 sides....

If you need room, you can store some of it in my shop. My wife said "it looks like BPS blew up in here". roflmao

4x8 ft pegboard with 12 inch hangers. You wont have to buy worms for a year after you get them all hung on the hangers. Ask me how I know that.

The closet organizers are great for the plano boxes, line storage, other stuff. I like the setup toasterwitheyes has above. The pegboards with (as mentioned the 12" hooks) can hold about 15 packs of worms if you cram them on there or around 20 cranks(without packages). Add some 1x2" board behind the pegboard to give spacing for the hangar hooks. I have been converting my spare bedroom into a fishing room and the pics show how far I've gotten so far. The only problem I have with an 8' ceiling is that its hard to store the rods anywhere. If I take the ceiling fan out could possible hang them but not sure I like that idea. They just stand in the corner for now. (don't know why the one pic posted upside down!!)
