Several years ago they dropped the lake 60 in about 30 days and there wasnt any grass left, grass has only been back about 4yrs, Amistad is not a healthy fishery without grass.

Flw response to my email regarding fish care.

Good morning, Dennis. Thanks for watching our live weigh in on flwfishing.com. I completely understand that fish have to be in the water to survive. We take a tremendous amount of pride in fish care. The longest I spoke to anyone was a couple minutes, then the fish immediately get water back into the bag before being handed off to a staff member on the release boat. Unfortunately, we don't have a staff member to take fish off the stage at all events. Just so you know, we lost very few fish over the weekend. Thanks for your support of the sport.

Sounds like they need some volunteers like Champs uses.

They don't have a single body present they can assign to walk fish from the stage to the tank? That is an unacceptable and pretty ridiculous response.

Seems to me with the entry fee hike they could afford a person to help with fish care. What enables us to fish for bass. It starts with the well being of the fish. If a bunch of dead fish start showing up sponsors will be hard to find.

that is about the most lame excuse for fish care ever given. for the kind of entries these folks charge fish care should be at the top of their list of things to do.

I'm truly stunned that is what they chose to reply with. That is not a good look on them.

What proof do they have that they lost "very few fish?" I am not talking about fish floating in the tank. I am talking about the ones that went back in the lake and died a few hours later.

You gotta think with all the high school fishing teams having fundraisers a token donation to to team in Del Rio and some free flw hats or shirts would get a couple kids to run fish. It ain't that hard.

I agree with y'all.

I also am questioning their entries and payouts. It's downright ridiculous. I am starting to believe they need to take a hint from Chad and Basschamps on how to run a trail.

I'm sure you could apply and pay a $100 plus applications fee and they would allow you to walk the fish off of the stage. I say that only partially joking. It wouldn't surprise me in the least for FLW to try that.
