First throw of the cast net. Thought I had a load of big gizzards but it was about 150+ catfish. It took an hour to get them all out.

The only time I caught a huge large mouth bass was in the cast net , that fish absolutely soaked us trying to wrestle it into the boat.

I've experienced something similar but figured out quickly not to throw down in a channel, or you will find out why they are called channel cat. I'm not saying thats the only place to perform that stunt. I had so many I just cut the line and let the net go, I'd believed around 3-400 but that was back when 7' nets cost $20.

Done that before...not good whip i do carry diagonal side cutters now though when im heading for bait....i push the fins thru the net and clip them off they come right out...however that batch you caught would take a while... flush_2

If it ain't broke don't fix it...but go ahead and work on it anyway.....

That's a great idea Sam! I'm going to get a pair for the boat. I broke all the fins with my hands and cut my hands to shreds in the process.
