If I'm not fishing or hunting I'm hunting a place to fish or hunt.

Won't hurt to get any on the threads for those plugs, just dont put it on the electrode ground. Those plugs were sleeved and the problem was the sleeves would get carbon buildup causing them to stick in the plug hole and pull off when removing the plugs. Come to thing of it, when i was in the military we had the same problem with glow plugs on the 6.2 and 6.5L diesels in the HUMMERS.

I read it...wow! Use only one that shield part. Seems to me that lower section of the plug doesn't touch any part of the head. It's interesting that some mechanics on these U Tube videos say to get the engine hot before plug removal. Reading this says remove at room temp to keep from damaging the threads on the heads. Also it says to spray some product into the well and let sit for 15 minutes.. This ain't like the old days. That forum date was 2008! thanx

i also recommend blowing out the plug wells with compressed air before spraying a penetrating oil in the plug well

and, a little axle grease on the inside and outside tip of the plug socket, wipe the socket and reapply on each plug, this will help eliminate dirt and grit from falling into the plug hole and threads

Have done plenty of the 3v spark plugs! Warm the engine and spray some type of carbon cleaner and let it seep down. Work the plug back and forth. Eventually, the plug will come out or break! Most of the time it will come out with a little patience! Pretty crappy design!
