I’m getting back into bass fishing after years away from fishing at all. Started the journey back last year and have the following equipment:
7’6” TFO H with Revo X HS 7.3:1
7’ XML Bass H with Revo SX 7.3:1
7’1” Tournament ZX MH with Revo SX 6.4:1
7’1” Tournament ZX M with Revo X 5.4:1
7’ Cherrywood HD MH with Black Max 6.4:1
7’ Lew’s laser spinning combo

I’d like to fish a bit more this year and possibly get into some tournaments. I live in the North Fort Worth area and am wondering what I need to focus on working on and possibly where to work on it to know I’d be ready for a tournament without wasting someone’s time as a partner.

Pick a lake with several tournaments through out the year, and go for it. On your own and with others in tournaments and on your own. Keep going when it gets tough. Study and spend TOW, lots and lots.

Make sure you stop by the Fun N Sun Show and talk to some of the pros. Some good tackle to be had as well!

Look into Tarrant county bass club for 2019. We fish lakes in this area. Very friendly small group of guys.

Follow what lakes are hot on TFF and go and get your confidence back up. Find a style of fishing you like such as drop shot etc. and get comfortable at it so you have a “go to” when the fishing is slow. Most importantly find a fishing partner you like to fish with because you will be with them or 8 hours at a time.
