I don't bank fish much but I went with a friend to a pond out in the middle of nowhere with no fence or signs. Anyway. We got kicked out by some kid saying it was private property and that he was going to call the game warden if we didn't get out. We did but my question is what would happen if we didn't. Would we get in trouble if there is no visible sign that we are trespassing on private land.

It's Texas. There is very little public property. You likely were on someone's private property.

With the lack of fences and signs, verbal warning is necessary.

Refusal to leave could get you charged with 30.5 criminal trespass.

From what I've seen, most cops would rather convince you to leave than file charges.

There is almost nothing like you described as far as a pond in the middle of nowhere in Texas that is not private.

Bummer kind of but its true. The kid was almost certainly right in that you were on private property.

In Texas. all land is assumed to be private, unless otherwise posted.

If someone tells you that it's private property, it's best to believe them and leave peacefully. If you want to go research the ownership/boundaries and fight about it later, great.

But fighting about it on the spot often ends badly.

In 1950 t0 1965 my brother,me and a couple of buds had good luck with in 50 miles of oak cliff stop and ask a farmer if we could hunt
dove, rabbits ect. or fish . If we had any luck we offered to clean the game for them.met a lot of good people and had a lot of fun.

So true. My cousin hog hunts for free this way. Closer to Waco though.

Also, if you see purple ribbons or anything painted purple, that also mean's no trespassing.
