My brother in law is at a top-tier investment bank and he loves to ask interviewees (college kids) finance and accounting questions that make no sense just to see if theyll try to BS.

I was once asked why manhole covers are round ? Goldman asks this one always. They give you 5 mins to list all the reasons you can come up with and what is your #1 answer. Best I could do was that its impossible to install wrong. Saves time? If it had squared off corners at any angle there are so many ways it would not fit and only one way it would. A circle is a circle.

I worked with a guy who recommended his identical twin brother for a job in the company.
The person doing the interview asked him, "How long have you known this person"?
