1. Turn unit OFF
2. Press and hold the - & + Keys at the same time
3. Press and Release the PWR key
4. Release all buttons when the USA maps appear

This is a HARD reset and will DELETE waypoints and gps data and change all your settings back to factory default.
Also if you have a mapping SD card you should remove it before doing the reset

Thats a nice gesture.

I got a question you might be able to help me with.

I have HDS7 Carbons front and console. I have the TotalScan transducers front and rear. I installed them Saturday and went to the lake Sunday to try them out. First thing, everything was great. I punched a few buttons and now neither the front nor the rear show water temps.

Any idea what I did? Haha.

Thanks, but it isnt an overlay issue. There are simply a water temp and - - - displayed where there was once a temperature value. It happened to both units simultaneously. So, Im sure it was a button press

I had this exact same thing occur on hy HDS pairs. Somehow, the system reset the default source for temperature. Go through the menus to find the "temperature" source, and assign it to your totalscan. if you can't figure this out, let mw know and I'll look through the menu to get the exact sequence.

Thanks for the response. Boats under the cover right now, so it will be Friday evening before I have a chance to go take a look. Im sure its something I did and I just need to learn the ne OS and GUI of these. I have had the Gen1 HDS stuff for a long time and know them inside and out. But these new ones? Im a little intimidated so far.

Should have bought a Garmin Steez. A blond can even work them.

I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed.

No [censored]. For real. These things are awesome, when you figure them out. Problem is, by that time, they are obsolete. Lol.

Now I have to figure out how to link my Blades to them. I can see it now. Ill try to switch to maps while hauling [censored] and my PowerPoles will deploy.
