Quit writing checks several years ago. Use my bank's on line service. Would bet it costs about a buck to write a check and mail it, what with postage, envelope and so on. The bank has a copy of each monthss statement as well. I also have a digital copy and a hard copy, and I do pay attention to what the bank is clearing. For me, online beats the paper route.

Love the way checking helps keep track of things. Still using the 3-to-a-page original binder and format I started using when I was 16 and hired on my first taxpaying job...a bit over 50 years ago. These days I get my checks thru Sam's, about a nickel apiece.
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.
