I am about to go with one of these two sets of rain gear, but I have not been able to put my hands on either pair. Im about 2 hours away from bps in Houston, but when I swung in there they either only had 100mph gear or I was in the wrong spot. Not sure where I could see the gill fg set.
Has anyone compared these two side by side. More specifically does anyone own the 200mph. I cant find many reviews on that stuff. I see a lot of good stuff about gill, but Ive always heard stick to Gore-Tex or youll regret it. Im sure the gill will hold up, but how hot is it in the summer?
Id like the Simms ProDry Im sure, but Im not paying retail price for it and havent been able to find it on a good sale. About to just give the 200moh a shot I think, hopefully someone has good reviews.

I just bought the 200mph and used it for the first time last weekend. Its definutely not as warm as the 100mph suit, but its a suit that I think you can definitely wear in the summer also. I was still able to layer up underneath the suit and I stayed warm. Havent got to use it in the rain yet.

200mph will be Gore Tex pro, a lighter, more breathable Gore than the original, and is better suite for warmer/moderate climates. Simms Pro Dry and Cabelas Guidewear Pro also use Gore Tex Pro. Original Guidewear and 100mph use original Gore and is a warmer, heavier suit. Gill uses... something else. Can't go wrong with GoreTex though! . Several Manf sell branded suits for a bit of a discount, especially if you are Mil/Vet/1RP. Dobyns comes to mind (Simms Pro Dry) and BassCat (Gill). Also google Blue Quill Angler, they routinely have Simms Pro Dry on 25-30% discount...

I have the Gill OS2 Jacket & Bib. Gill originated in the sailing market and products cover dock to ocean environments. My OS2 is very waterproof and windproof.. Neck and cuff design is top of line for that water and wind proofing. Gill rates their gear from DOT-1 to DOT-4. DOT-4 designed for serious ocean wear. My OS2 is rated DOT-3 and is good for Texas windy 50 degree to colder. But I layer for warmth in the very cold days. Only complaint I have is sailing design lacks D-rings for attachments. And no zipper in the bib's leg cuff for boots though my boots will work through. You should look into the Gill FG Insulated Tournament, FG2 Tournament or FG24 Angler jackets & bibs. These have the better Vortex hood and D-rings. Gill has lighter products for warmer weather. AFTCO makes some good gear also. Here's a Tactical Bassing Gill & AFTCO review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oPrVYq5Vj0

Have had both Cabelas Guidewear and BPS 100mph. I found them both great but definatly 3 season at best. Defiantly not warm weather rain gear. Bought slightly large so I could add some long Johns and a hoodie and I have fished comfortably down to the teens or in wet weather so cold that if the temp dropped a degree it would stop raining and start snowing. Just need something for warmer weather.
