 Anyone using Lowrance 3D for HDS units??

Anyone using the 3D module for their HDS units? is it worth the upgrade from LSS-2 transducer? any better picture quality? I probably wouldn't use the 3D much, but I hear the side and down imaging is better. Anyone have experience with em? Can get the module new for $500, was thinking about trying it, but didn't know if it was worth it or not
