We got one the other day, I’ve been seeing a notification that the free trail or whatever that stores the video is going to expire. Is renewing that the only way that the thing will keep working?

I have 15 days left on mine, so if you don’t have it then you still get the live motion and camera, remember I said live. If you don’t have it and you can’t answer your notifications right then, than it will not keep the recording.
$30 a year I think for cheapest, not bad I guess

After the trial period it will not store anything. We got the $10 a month deal because we plan on adding a couple of cameras. $10 a month covers anything you add to the system and will keep notifications for 60 days. Without it you can still see whose there and answer the doorbell it just won't record it.

It is a great system. And can be activated from anywhere in the world you have WiFi or good cell service

yeah it's worth it - it has quirks but overall I am happy with it. I also did the $30 a year deal... easily worth it for being able to pull up video at a later time.

We have it as part of our ADT system. The only thing I find annoying is all my neighbors posting about lost dogs, meter readers and people leaving cards on your door.

It is a good. $30 a year for their recording cloud service, well worth it. Mitt78 is right about the annoyance "Ring Neighborhood" shixt. Mostly about somebodys fur baby walked by their yard. But you can turn that notification off. I got the pro model about 2 years ago. Still works good.
