In Texas you are now required by law pull to the right and stop for emergency vehicles. Before we were just asking for the right of way. This does not release anyone from liability, we all have seen bad examples.
I cannot imagine any court siding with a driver who decided to enter into oncoming traffic. I can speak for my dept. under no circumstance is that allowed. Many times we are stuck at intersections, we turn off lights and noise makers and wait for the light to cycle.

You don't need an Opticom...unless they've updated the technology we used to be able to make it work by flashing the hi beams as fast as we could. Also seen it work with regular strobes. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/flash-point/Sure ya'll did...... In all seriousness I am not sure if and when they changed anything on them. They have been in use for 50 years and in my career have looked the same. We got out with the techs as they are installing them at intersections and test them for them. They have always looked the same to me.

It's super rare here these days to do it and like I stated the AO better damn well not have/cause an accident doing it. Zero protection if so and a good way to be jobless.

And I know for a fact that the strobe works.

While we have you, what size fire extinguishers are required for a commercial space with 54 occupancy? No kitchen.

Hey Mark, for the simpletons here, you may have to explain what an AO is? There is a few of us that know what that is...

I lived in a small town in high school and the ambulance was often driven by a young man who everyone knew to be .... "eccentric". One evening me and a few friends were riding the main drag and heard the ambulance coming and he was coming on fast. Lights, sirens, blowing his horn. He sped past us and our juvenile curiosity caused us to drive a bit faster to keep him in site. We were all arguing about what kind of emergency had befallen some poor soul. Up ahead maybe an eighth of a mile ahead of us he abruptly slowed down, killed the lights and sirens, and... Pulled into Sonic. We pulled in beside him just as the skating girl brought his to go bag to his car. We all got out of our car where he and everyone else could see us and started clapping. I was in a line of cars in a turning lane just the other day, I heard a siren come on behind me then he pulled out of line and it was just a plain truck so I guess it was a undercover vehicle goes a little ways and turns into a housing community. I should have followed him to see if he was in a hurry to get home!!
God is Great! Beer is Good!! People are Crazy!!! Wait... I have Micky Mouse Money..Grandson Logic!!
Dear God, help us to be faithful to you in every aspect of our lives. Amen.
