back in the day. For fun me and my running buds would go to laundry mats and mix peoples clothes up. Then sit in the parking lot and watch them freak out trying to sort and figure out whos clothes was whos. But that was back in the 80's small town east Texas. When folks would start their laundry then leave and come back later.

When I was working for a defense contractor in Yuma, AZ there used to be a laundry mat with a bar next to it across the street from a hospital and both opened at 6am. The bartender only had one arm and made the best bloody marys. The place would be packed with nurses just getting off work.

Well I went last weekend because I had to wash my giant quilt... Need an industrial capacity washer.

Can you believe its $5.25 per load to wash? $6.00 per load if you want hot water? Drying is another $1.75 to $3.00 depending on how much time you need.

I was telling my wife last week something similar, after I made similar observations, while washing a huge blanket. They could probably own three sets of washer and dryer by now with the money they are spending at those laundromats.

On a trip to Mexico City, we ran out of clean shop rags, and went out in the 'ville to use a coin laundry.
They were old American coin-op machines. There was a counter there to buy soap and also buy 'tokens' to
use in the machines. They were pre 1964 solid Silver US quarters.

Not sure what they used for tokens after we left.

Enough of this idle chit-chat. This ain't no retirement home.

If you're not too choosy and shop around for deals, you can get them new for this!

Correct, I see decent used ones for around $100-$150 from time to time. So really its like a few weeks worth of laundry then you are in style!

I need to go back and counsel those folks on long range planning, cost/benefit analysis as far as paying $9 a load and doing several loads a week vs. saving up for a month and getting their own unit.

If they don't wash their clothes for a few months they can save up enough to buy a set for themselves.
