when you put a zero it doesn't show as an option on the polls for some reason.

I do have a son who lives in DFW now but who will come up here to fix the central heat if it goes haywire. I do thank God for him and that he was allowed to swing on the rafters (while his arm was in a cast) and bug the constuction guys and electricians while they worked. He absorbed it like a sponge and has been gainfully employed by electricians in the past.

It's just a poll...not asking for any personal info unless people want to offer it, just a generic distribution out of curiosity of the type of curve we would get from the people on here. I figured it would be a bell with a mean toward the higher end. You don't have to vote, and you don't even have to be honest if you do (primary reason for the spectacle chain option).

Some people don't mind, and even enjoy talking about this kind of stuff. Some, like you, do not. In my personal experience those who are more open about this sort of thing are the ones who are more successful. I think that's because people who are motivated typically seek out those who are successful to learn how they themselves can be successful. Sharing and distribution of knowledge is one of the primary reasons humanity has come so far so fast. Then there are those who say it's rude. Over the last 8 years my average is in the middle bracket, with one year I didn't hit make it and 2 I've made it into the next bracket. If I found it rude and just went about my own business I would probably be sitting much lower, but because I bugged the successful guys and soaked it up like a sponge like your son did, I was able to learn things that would have taken me years if not more.

There are 197 votes at this time with 5 chain votes which may or may not be for real so lets use 192 for this analysis.

66 are over $120,000 so in this poll 34.4 % are upper class income wise with just one income. We have some very successful individuals on TFF. thumb flag

Agreed, and we need to Bernie this up a little.

The number one predictor of wealth is age. We have a bunch of olds on this forum. Warren Buffet would trade all his billions to be 20 again without hesitation. Would any twenty year old take all Buffet's billions but have to be 80? I think few if any. The most valuable commodity on the planet is time.

Technically yes...but this topic was intended to be a narrow minded perspective...a slice of the pie if you will.

Everyone as a collective? Nah, that's okay.

Individually? Yeah man, you gotta fix that! smile

Surely you've seen the Office episode where Darryl is asking for a raise, only to find out that he already makes more than Michael Scott. They go to corporate to ask Jan for a raise for Michael, and it is epically hilarious.

Great post.

I know I am underpaid. We have guys with half my experience who just left to work in the metroplex for more than I'm making and big signing bonuses to boot. But I get to live in the country, my job is 15 minutes from home and they give me the flexibility to go do family stuff any time I want. Pretty low stress, I get paid for OT, and the work environment is improving. I know I could make more money elsewhere, but I don't think I'd be any happier than where I'm at.
