I must had fished the Denison dam over 100 times in 10 years, catching thousands of quality sandbass, catfish, smallies, drum, skipjacksand of course stripers.I never even thought of Ok license unless we crossed over the dam to fish, then we always purchased licenses.I called our Parks Dept and the wildlife services along with the law enforcement officials in Denison and all said that I did not need an OK license,if I did not venture past a certain point listed in old Tx publications. The OK warden said that any one wading was in OK water, better get an OK license if you are wading.

cknowles, that is why I said in the post in the "Whites, striper" forum that it was at the whim of the OK game warden.
I do not think he should be able to ticket you if you are just wading out to cast out your line only.
Down at the Carpenter's Bluff bridge you do have to have an Oklahoma license to fish on the Texas side. Where we fish on the Red River before it goes into Texoma the wardens have told us we just need a Texas license. However, that area and the area we fish on the Washita is covered by the Lake Texoma license. I just buy it if we are going to fish there. I refuse to buy an Oklahoma license and do not fish below the dam for that reason.
I wish they would allow the Texoma license cover fishing both sides of the river below the dam.
You guys that went fishing let us know how you did.

So, this is the place if you want to catch striper without a boat in the middle of a lake? I'm land-locked and have been looking for a place where I can catch some big striper. Thanks.

License Requirements for Border WatersTexas-Oklahoma and Texas-Arkansas: To fish in all waters of the Red River along the Texas-Oklahoma or Texas-Arkansas borders, a person must comply with the licensing requirements of Oklahoma or Arkansas, as applicable. A person may fish with a valid Texas fishing license from the Texas bank from Denison Dam to Shawnee Creek.
