Fished another event with the Carp Angler's Group of North Texas and did pretty well! Lots of good fish were landed, including 3 buffs of 24.5lbs, 29lbs, and 31lbs. Also I got a few As always, all fish were released to fight another day.



First buffalo of the day for me! 18.5lbs, at this point I'd also had 3 small carp up to 10lb 12oz and a decent catfish.



New species! I had just gotten finished telling one of the other guys that I've really been slacking when it comes to pursuing different species and then this guy bit my line. Not quite what I had in mind



Finally got one of the big boys! This brute broke my Texas PB at 34lbs even. It was an insanely lucky catch as well, when he first bit he took a spurt of line very quickly and it wrapped around itself on my reel. I had to horse him as I could only give him as much line as I could gain on top of the knot that had formed. My size 10 hooks and line held up to some crazy pressure and I shook with adrenaline for at least 30 minutes afterwards!



This is now the cover image of our group page on Facebook for the next month! Not only was it the biggest fish landed during the event, it was the biggest fish landed all year during all of the events! What a fish!

Now, on to the PB...




The event was almost over and I was packing up, but my leftmost rod had a few beeps coming from the bite alarm ever so often so I just had to leave it in till the last second. By the time I finished packing, the event had already been over for a measly 5 minutes and the rod tore off. This gorgeous, PB setting Common Carp was the result! 22lb 12oz of pure gold! If only it had taken off a few minutes earlier it would've been the largest carp landed during the events all year, but I'm certainly not complaining!

Thanks Chris. I just wish you'd have walked past me again, since every time you walked past someone they landed a buff lol. For the folks that weren't there, a 29lber, 31lber, and my 18.5lber all came right after Buffaloman Chris walked by, I guess they're just drawn to him for whatever reason!
