I would like some suggestions for a bait cast rod to use for deep crank baits. What are you using?
Thank you.

I use the Dobyns 805 CB RM for the most part. If you are throwing mostly 8s and 10s, I would move up to the 806, as it is more suited to the bigger CBs. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Cannot go wrong with the Impulse IMP79CBH Glass/Graphite Composite rod. Lance and Brion make some awesome rods.

Deep crankbaits like 6xd's or like 10xd's? Takes a whole different rod set up for those extra deep cranks. Kistler rods gets the nod for me, for 6xd type I like the KLX Feel N Reel 7'6" Heavy (remember these are composite blended rods) For the 10xd type I love the Helium 3 7'10" Heavy, this rod a moderate action that really keeps them pinned! Also you can launch a 10xd on this rod!

+1 on the Dobyns 805 CB RM XP. It's the Randy Mcabbee signature rod. Great for all crank baits and an ARig.

Any opinions on the Fury 705CB for cranks like the 6xd to the 8xd? The Fury line is more within my budget at the moment.

I use the Dobyns , kistler and KVDs cranking rod . There all great . But if Im throwing bigger crankbaits I always use the KVD cranking rod. It seems to do the work for you . For me , it doesnt wear me out as bad cranking all day. I wouldnt sell any of the 3 , they all do well , but the KVD rod seems to suite me better .

I built a collapsable 8-footer with a full cork handle that is just an inch longer than your typical rod. I can get my hands a little further apart and send a bait flying a mile. It is great for big crankbaits, A-rigs, and even C-rigs. When I set the hook, I move a ton of line which helps if I am a little out of position.
All that said, slinging that 8 footer like you are swinging for the wall in Fenway can lead to some monstrous backlashes.

Any opinions on the Fury 705CB for cranks like the 6xd to the 8xd? The Fury line is more within my budget at the moment. I don't have an 705CB Fury but have several other Fury rods and they are good. I don't think you will be disappointed with the Fury line.
