I was fortunate enough to get one of these rods and fish with it today. From what I understand , Bait956 also has one. Sure, we all have Ugly Stik�s and numerous off the shelf rods that we have caught thousands of channel cat with. However, I have now learned the value in a high quality rod. Finish , balance, appearance, lightweight, proper tip and backbone are the difference in a good day and great day. This thing makes controlling a fish through the timber a breeze. Super sensitive tip to feel those little pecks and enough backbone to bury the hook. Stubby said since I have broken some rods on hooksets that he had to build one I couldn�t break. It is funny how the right combination makes fishing that much better. Great rod and great friend.

Lake Palestine been lacking attention in the catfish department?

Stubby can give all the specs. 7 ft is about all I know. He told me the rest and I forgot

They are pretty rods. Needs to call them SOB rods - Stubby's Own Brand. I should get a hefty discount (like a free one) for suggesting it. Ha!

I like catfish, don't take it wrong but I usually go to the Trinity River or Richland Chambers for catfish. (bigger fish)
I fish Lake Palestine for crappie and lots of times I catch more catfish on my crappie jigs than crappie ..... small eater size.
Back in the 70's or early 80's Palestine had the not too bright idea to raise the size limit on catfish and it wasn't long before a 14" - 16" catfish looked like an eel .... skinny suckers.
THEN, small fish took over ..... I have fished four people in my boat because my friends wanted catfish ...... we kept 200 fish in about three hours ...... TOO MANY CATFISH IN PALESTINE!!!!
