Headed to Austin this weekend. I have never fished any of these lakes, but have heard they hold some big ones. Just wondering which one of these y'all would recommend I fish if I were looking for size. I know that lady bird is TM only but don't mind that if I can have a shot at a big one.

I havent been to any of them but from what I have heard Lady Bird would be your best bet. Ive never heard of big ones coming out of Travis. Lake Austin hasnt produced much since they killed the grass.
Have seen pics and reports of some decent fish coming off Bird.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Out of those three, Lady Bird is your best bet for a big one.

Travis has some really good fish in it. Just hard to get em to bite in the clear water. With water levels and the amount of water that passed through all three of them, I don't know if any of them is better than the other. I catch lots of fish on Travis but haven't been since the flood in October. I've never heard of a "big" one coming out of Lady Bird. Lake Austin has had several over 12 come out of it a few years back, but haven't heard of any big ones in the last year or so. But if I was going on any of those three for a big fish I'd try Lake Austin. Decker might be a good option for you. What day you goin?

Countless 9-12lbers have been caught from ladybird actually. Not as many since the grass was destroyed. Sane as lake Austin. Travis has gotten better for big ones but recent floods may make it difficult. Decker is pretty easy to figure out and good chance at solid fish

As you probably know by now Travis isn't known for big ones, but that doesn't mean you can't catch them! Travis has been fishing very well lately. Last Monday I had a client lose one close to 6 at the net and land another around 4-5 lbs. Check out my website www.fish512.com I update it with reports on Lake Travis very regularly.

Follow up: I got out on Travis yesterday. One of those fantastic fall days that we just don't get many of... 75 degrees, sunny, no wind. Even if the fishing was awful what a beautiful day just to be out on the water. But...fishing was pretty good! Caught 18 bass, not too bad for one person. Mostly Lake Travis specials...non "score-able" bass. But did manage to catch a real nice 3.5 pounder on a spinner bait just after noon. Saw tons of wildlife and got to video one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. A doe comes running out of the woods and a nice 8 pointer hot on her tail. She makes a bee line down to the water. I assumed she was gonna get a drink. NOT. She hops in and starts swim away from her "boyfriend" across a creek that's probably 400 yards wide. He jumps in right behind her and swims about half way across and then says, "fa get about it". He turned around and headed back to shore. LOL! Pretty cool. All in all just about what I expected from Lake Travis. Decent bite. Mostly small. Occasional decent fish. Most of them came on a squarebill. Better fish came on a spinner bait. Caught a few on a swim jig. Thank you Lord for a beautiful day on the water.
