I'm looking for a used truck and in my price range I pretty much have to make the decisions of age vs mileage. I'm looking for 2010 or newer Fords with less than 100,000, but a 2012 with 70,000 vs a 2014 with 90,000 at the same price point makes me question which is a more important factor.
So all things equal which is more important in choosing used vehicles?

Milage is more important imo, that and the engine in it. 5.4/5.0 V8 are long lasting motors.

I guess i'd rather have a 14 with 90k than a 12 with 70k.
HWY miles are much easier on a vehicle than stop and go and everything on the 12 model is 2-3 years older than the 14 model think belts hoses etc.

You're only talking about 20k miles difference....that's not much. If you trade vehicles often the 14 will have better trade value but other than that I'd say just pick the one you like.
To whom much is given, much is required.

On the fords, make sure neither fall under the years that were prone to plugs breaking off in the heads, or choose the one of those two trucks that doesn't.
Otherwise, for me, I'd go with the one that has 20k less miles, 2 yrs is not significant enough age difference to matter unless there are some critical features to consider.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!
