Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I'm sorry for not posting reports on here the past month and a half, but as some of y'all might know I was involved in an accident. My boat trailer was totaled back on the 27th of September and it took a month to have a new one built and delivered. So all my October trips were canceled and some of my November. Now that all that mess is behind me I've been able to get back on the water and do what I love. I've only had 2 trips this month so I've been able to do a lot of scouting as well.

Falcon Lake is looking really good, the lake has come up 15ft since the beginning of September and is sitting at 277.81 that's about 24ft below full pull. We have seen some odd weather around Zapata the past month, some days we are in the 80's others below freezing. Winter has definitely shown her face a little early around here making the surface water temps anywhere from 61 degrees to 68 degrees.

It took a few days for me to get things figured out since I hadn't been on the water in over a month but the majority of the fish have made their move from deep to shallow. Right now I'm throwing a little bit of everything chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, swim jigs, square bills and sometimes the senko or Texas rigged lizard get it done. One thing I've noticed with all these baits is right now bigger isn't always better matching the hatch is the key.

Everyone is asking me what end of the lake is better and thats hard to say. Last week I was on the North end and did really good, on my trips I stayed down South and put together a good pattern as well. I think the key to all of it is to find a creek channel from 15 to 5 ft and just work the edges of it. Covering as much ground as you can and when you catch 1 slow down and work that area well because there will be a few more with it.
