The Brazos River Authority opened one flood gate this morning and just closed it a few hours ago. The river was full of flowing water earlier today - Nov 20th.
My question is: how soon can you expect good striper fishing after they close the flood gates and the water level drops?

I plan to wade fish on the dry/muddy riverbed below the tail race at Possum Kingdom dam....perhaps as early as tomorrow - Wednesday 21st.

Will be in the area until Sunday.

Many thanks for your input.

Ken

Caught plenty of stripers while they were releasing water. Gotta fish fast, but they turn on when the water is moving.

I had a lot of luck in the 90's before the construction with striper on jigs when generating/open gates and using live bait (perch) when closed. Fishkiller-> is that a recent report or just an overall experience?

Last time the gates opened lots of stripers went over the dam. I am sure that happened again this year. Once the water clears you should be able to wade and catch them pretty easily. They will eat all the bait pretty quickly in the rive and pile up in the holes especially the one at the dam.

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.
