I flew into Waco AP the other day. Lake Waco looked pretty awesome from the air. What's it like from a boat?

Well its closed right now. But its would be a good lake if it didnt get so much pressure, has quite a few good fish but its mostly a grind out there and getting worse every year

The lake is fun, but fishes small. My personal best, 13.29, came from there two years ago, almost to date.

They are dropping water fast, and the lake should be open again by thanksgiving. Just like three years ago.

Its a real good lake for its size and the pressure it gets, not sure how good the quantity still is but the quality is there. I know a guy caught a 13+ last year from the bank up one of the creeks. There are probably more double digit fish caught there annually than you would think, saw 9lber and 10lber in the same sack at a club tourney there once.

There was an new story in the paper Sunday that said all the ramps were open but Twin Bridges and Airport Beach, my friend drove out to the lake an hour ago and it's still 9 feet above normal and all parks are closed. That why I don't take the paper anymore.

I haven't seen any boats on the water but that doesn't mean they are not open.

Midway and Speegleville say they are open but that is not the case. I went and checked and the gates are still locked and Midway has a sign on the gate that says closed due to flooding. The ramps are clear and ready though.
