Yep, I lowered my motor to put the cups on to run it before the first fishing trip after hunting season. Left it down to drain and drove off that way in the dark. Broke the transom support but thank goodness the motor was high enough not to drag the skeg.

Me and a buddy to fish with a certain guide on lake Ivie quite a bit, one morning he was late which was unusual for him.

I called him an he said he had overslept and would be there shortly.

He came flying down the road that was caliche at the time with a 50 ft orange extension cord behind his boat.......True story

I usually get at least 4 years out of a truck battery. I got almost 8 years out of the factory battery. Was the truck sitting for a long period of time?

Don't teel bad man....I was late to leave one morning and as I pulled up to ramp on Rayburn my buds were laughing at my 75ft....or what was left of it...extension cord hanging out of the back of my BassCat

A buddy of mine showed up for a tournament on Athens dragging one charger (totally trashed) on one side of the boat and about 10 feet of what was left of an extension cord on the other side of his boat.

Friends boat was an early 80's model and did not have on-board chargers so he charged them with two external chargers that he would plug in and leave on the back of the boat while his batteries were charging. That morning he forgot to unplug them.

Hmmm, don't think it's been hotter in Allen, Tx than yore neck of the woods. My cummins 5.9 don't need no stinkin heater. That emblon on the grill may be yer problem!

got couple buddies that drove 120 miles to fish a tourney and boater forgot and left his boat keys at home....they had already paid entry fee so they fished with trolling motor but didn't do any good....
moral of this story is that if you take your plug or your keys out of the boat,sooner or later you're gonna forget to put them back in....

you can hot wire a boat ignition pretty easily. My wife gets on me all the time for leaving my keys in the boat, as if I made it easier for someone to steal it, LOL!

Buddy and I were going to go out fishin' but thunderstorms were coming. I told to come over later on in the day to watch some football instead.

He headed out of his driveway and drove down the street for a bit before a car heading opposite of him waved him down and told him he had something dragging behind his boat. "My boat?!?", he said. Forgot to unhitch his boat and was dragging a charger and a 100' extension cord.

Went screaming down main street once with 1200' of 2 1/2" fire hose behind the engine. Captain kept asking why all the cars were flashing there lights at us. Asphalt & aluminum couplings don't mix!
