Met up with a couple of anglers interested in catching carp and showed 'em the ropes. With the fantastic conditions (warm spell, cold front/rain approaching, perfect wind, cloudy, etc.) I knew we were in for a treat! Many PBs were set and broken throughout the course of the day. As always, all fish were released for another angler to enjoy.

Dad with the first fish of the day, a nice eating-sized Blue.

[Linked Image]

Dad again with a small carp.

[Linked Image]

First buffalo of the day at 19lbs, a double as well!

[Linked Image]

His first ever carp! 2lbs even, same as my first one!

[Linked Image]

Even the small ones are picture worthy (I normally just take a photo of 'em in the mat, too much time that could be spent getting the rod back in!)

[Linked Image]

Upping his PB slowly! 4 and a half pound common

[Linked Image]

Second buffalo @ 21lb 8oz.

[Linked Image]

Number three for me, 23lb 8oz. They were convinced I'd stolen the honey hole (or at least that I was able to cast far enough to get into the fish). I assured them it's only a matter of time, and since I wanted to get them on their first buffs I started passing the rod after this one.

[Linked Image]

Doubled up! I passed the rod to him and he was able to land his first ever Smallmouth Buffalo at a solid 21lb. Looks smaller but it's only because of his hands. Making your fish look bigger is an art form! The carp is a PB as well, 9lb 8oz!

[Linked Image]

Multi-species triple! PB Blue Catfish on the right at 4 and a half pound, and first ever buff on the left that ran 14lbs even.

[Linked Image]

Dad with a smallish funky looking common. Had a bit of an injury on the other side of his face, poor guy.

PB's everywhere! This one fought like a freight train and ran him into all kinds of snags. It's a miracle he was able to land this brute on a $7 medium action, Walmart rod. 26lbs, a very respectable PB. I told him beforehand that I wanted to net at least a 25lb fish for him and this one fit the bill nicely.

Dad with his first buffalo of the day at 23 and a half pounds. Good hump on this one!

[Linked Image]

This one would've been a PB if it didn't poo out the few ounces we needed! 24lb even Smallmouth Buffalo

[Linked Image]

'nother small carp

[Linked Image]

Biggest buffalo of the day for me, 23lb 12oz. I had one right at the end that took me for a good ride but got hung on some concrete and broke off. It had to have been the lake monster! I'll catch it one day...

Aside from the obviously excellent outing, I'm impressed by how many different locations you have at which you can make this happen.

Thoroughly enjoyed these pictures!

Ok I would like to get on the list for an introduction. I have caught carp accidentally. I have a boat and loads of fishing equipment. I fished for bass for 40 years then I had 5 strokes so I now catfish. Catfishing does not require casting for twelve hours straight while standing. I have a 24 foot pontoon boat. I have no carp specific equipment. So I just need to learn the ropes. I have seen a bunch of stuff in clouding making bailies, using method feeders and hair rigs. Now when I accidentally caught carp I was fishing for catfish baite$ with night crawlers. So if you have room for an older newbie or are game for a pontoon trip on Lake Fork please message me.
