I just bought a 2019 skeeter and they come with humminbird solix, but i am having a hard time learning this graph. I cant even put in coordinats in it. I am wondering if i should switch back to lowrance or are they easy to use. And does anyone know someone that can give me on the eater tutorials. They seem alot more difficult tjan distance so i wanted to we if you guys reccomend switching back or are these solix units that good

I honestly would stick with lowrance. Do you tournament fish? If so it seems as though it would be more beneficial to go with what you know as opposed to trying to learn something new and being frustrated on the water. Some will say hummingbird, but they know how to use them. Some will say lowrance, and you know how to use that. Go with your gut and use what will benefit you most on the water.

You will learn them. I run both. For waypoint management and overall usability I would take lowrance any day. But the solix isnt a bad unit

Where are you located? FYI there are some good videos on you tube by Doug Varenberg (spelling) you may watch some of them. I think you'll learn a lot from that.

Ive had Solix for about 8 mos. plenty of technical issues with these units but overall they are easy to operate. There are allot of menu items and I find the termanology they use to be confusing. I watched YouTube and called customer support allot. I like them now but it was frustrating getting here.
To mark a waypoint you touch the spot on the screen. Then hit the mark button on the right twice. Keep practicing and if you have Ultrex it needs to be calibrated on the water. Look it up on YouTube
Being successful is achieving that which you set out to accomplish!

So how do i put in. A waypoint a friend gave me. Also do u guys know anyone who would go on the water with me and teach me how to use it. On any screen push the "goto"or "mark" button. A drop down screen will pop up in the upper left corner. At the bottom of the box you will see lat/long. Select that then a keepad screen will come up. This screen is where you enter GPS numbers. Then you will have an orange box that says "mark" or "goto" depending on which button you pressed to get the menu. This will save the waypoint . For entering numbers use the mark button to save waypoints. Use the goto button to put numbers in that you want to go to from current position. Either way will save waypoints though

I agree with the others; do some youtube tutorial searches and just play around with them for a while, you'll get used to them. I do like Lowrance's waypoint management better than the solix but I don't think that alone is worth the p.i.t.a. of totally swapping sonar networks.
Humminbird technical support is also a good resource, they've helped me a couple times on things I couldn't figure out.

It took some getting use to but I really like the solix. Once you figure it out you will appreciate the detail/clarity.
