Use 1 or 2 drift socks and size to keep you about .5 mph or slower.
Locate whisker fish on your FF and start drifting with fresh cut bait.
Look near Creek channels, humps and points and drop offs.

i am well versed on drifting from a boat. But curious on how to hook up the drift sock onto a Kayak. Do you want to drift sideways or do you want to drift with the sock on the end?

Anchor trolley is the best way to attach and control your anchor point. You'll find if it's a little windy, even if your anchor point is in the very front or rear, your kayak will still turn mostly sideways to the wind when drifting.

OK. Thanks for the input. Also. What do you think about a slow trolling type drift while rowing?

That could work on calm days, but I prefer a breeze.

Drift fishing from a kayak is a lot different than in a boat, and without a drift sock and an anchor trolley system, you will constantly be fighting to keep a steady position without the kayak trying to change sides on you.
If you don't know how to rig an anchor trolley system, look it up on youtube as there are several examples, but it's pretty simple. An anchor trolley allows you to attach an anchor line or drift sock to the anchor line, and then you can position it however you want depending on wind direction or current flow, allowing you to move it from either bow to stern, or off the side of the kayak.

Just one more cast!

Good Deal and Thank You guys. I will be getting the Trolley. It seems fairly easy to Mount.

I use a 30 and a 24, I prefer to drift sideways so I can put out more rods and I have a rudder to facilitate that. Unfortunately we can all give you our preferences and they are just that, you will have to put some time on the water and see what you prefer, what works with your setup and what you are successful with.
