CALL ME CRAZY BUT AFTER READING ABOUT NRX RODS I BOUGHT ONE OF EACH TO CHECK THEM OUT. THEY ARE AMAZING FOR FEEL, BUT THEY ARE REALLY TIP HEAVY. ID LIKE TO HAVE THE HANDLES AND REEL SEATS MOVED TOWARDS THE TIP TO BALANCE THEM OUT.
ID LIKE TO FIND SOMEONE TO DO THIS TO ONES I HAVE AND MORE ILL BE BUYING.
ANY SUGGESTIONS ? BASICALLY I WANT CUSTOM NRX I GUESS.

you may want to add weight to the butt of the rod instead. Try hanging or taping a 1oz weight on the butt and see how it feels, add more or less until you achieve the feel you want, you'll be surprised with the difference it makes. Moving a reel seat and grips up the blank is not as easy as it sounds. Removing the butt and epoxying some tungsten weights inside the rod blank is simple. They also make weighted butts that you can change on the fly. Click link ...... http://www.mudhole.com/Fuji-EWBC-Weighted-Butt-Cap

I DID THAT TO THE FIRST NRX I BOUGHT IT TOOK 8 QUARTERS TO BALANCE IT AND MAKE IT FEEL OK, AT THAT POINT IT WAS JUST TOO HEAVY TO USE BY ME FOR LONG.. AND THAT HEAVY IT DIDNT FISH LIKE I WANTED. I DONT WANT RODS THAT ARE THAT HEAVY.
IF IT WERE EASY ID BE DOING IT MYSELF. I ASSUME IT WILL TAKE SOME LATHE WORK TO REMOVE THE CURRENT HANDLES ETC.
I TRIED TO FIND THE NRX THREAD WHERE PEOPLE CLAIMED PERSON XXX BUILDS AS SENSITIVE A ROD, I WOULD CONSIDER BUYING SOME OF THOSE TO SEE BUT IM PRETTY SOLD ON THE NRX FEEL.
SORRY FOR THE CAPS. IM RECOVERING FROM SURGERY, 3 REPAIRS SHOULDER, WRIST AND ELBOW ALL DONE LAST WEEK TO MY CASTING ARM.

Hold on. G. Loomis NRX rods. You bought one of each in their line up, so 8? All 8 are out of balance? what reels are you running on them, that to me makes all the difference. You talked about adding 2 bucks worth of quarters to the butt. One quarter weights .2oz, 1.6 oz. of quarters. Perhaps find a slightly heavier reel? Seems very unfortunate to have to strip down or rework such a high quality rod. Maybe the Conquest is the answer, I'll take all of your unbalanced NRX rods off your hands! If you really are from Iowa you probably arent too bad! Go Hawkeyes!

RE WORK ISNT A OPTION.
I HAVE 4.5/5.5/5.7OZ REELS IM NOT CHANGING REELS. ALDEBARAN,DAIWA STEEZE SVS TWS, LEWS SUPER MAG
THE NRX ARE ALL TIP HEAVY IN MY OPINION.
THE 893/894/895 ARE THE WORST. THOSE ARE GREAT FEELING RODS IF I HOLD THEM COMPLETELY IN FRONT OF THE REEL, HAND ON THE SHAFT.
852 IS GOOD 853 OK 854 OK 873 OK
I CAN LIVE WITH THE ABOVE 4 BY ADDING A QUARTER OR TWO.

I build custom rods and I would agree that the NRX rods are very tip heavy.
