Kinda had me scratching my head....... showed a guy frog fishing in the slop and pads..... where I dont really use sonar. Just kinda strange that they showed that when it was about sonar and all its capabilities like SI or DI etc etc.

Got me scratching my head also. I looked up the commercial and then did a search where they are reviewing the unit and I see nothing. I assumed by the name that it was going to be something to compete with Garmin but if it has that type of technology, the videos aren't showing it. Are they just playing games with the name? Had my hopes up when I saw Live in the name.
Highly doubt its the same transducer. Ive heard that it gives a live view beneath the boat. Garmins Livescope will look out in front of the boat. Will be interesting to see what it does, but thats a big difference if it doesnt look out in front also.

It looks like it will be both. From their press release along with the only photo I saw that they released:

LiveSight Sonar
Sonar interpretation made simple, LiveSight sonar delivers the most detailed views of fish, down to every turn and flip of the tail, as they swim in and around cover. You'll be fishing in real-time as you watch fish react to your lure, see how they are relating to structure and gain insight on what will work, what won't and what to do next. ??Perfect for drop-shotting, vertical-jigging or lure-tracking in front of your boat, LiveSight helps you pinpoint fish locations, so you'll know whether they are actively feeding. Mount the transducer in a front-facing position to cast toward the fish, or mount it in a down-facing position to do some vertical-jigging below your boat.?
When using LiveSight forward in conjunction with the Lowrance Point-1 GPS antenna, an innovative on-chart indicator shows the direction the transducer is pointed, allowing anglers to line up on a waypoint or pinpoint the structure they are trying to fish.
Live Sight is pretty much the same as Garmin Panoptics, according to the regional rep for Lowrance. It does not have a 135 degree transducer like LiveScope has, to get both down and forward sight at the same time you will need to have 2 transducers.......at $1500 each. Lowrance will be putting 3 different mounts in the box so you can switch as needed.
Oh and Humminbird licenses it from Lowrance too...
A lot of the stuff yall love on your Garmin and Humminbird units was developed by Navico (Lowrance).
Just like lowrance infringed on humminbirds side imaging patent. They all do it knowing theyll make more than enough money in profits to pay for court costs.
