After SSN-646, I went to Navy Recruiting District Chicago for 2 long miserable years. Worked the richest suburbs and the poorest ghettos and barrios. At least the poor kids appreciated the chance.
Got out, knowing I could get back in (and a bonus to boot) but never looked back.
